Gooblatz, Decent Chess, Weak Battle If you were expecting the classic Battle Chess with lovely comedic, brutal, and slapstick animations of every possible kill / be killed combo, prepare to be underwhelmed. Once you get past the awkward camera positions and make your move, the characters that don’t look particularly distinct from each other take the same generic swipe at each opponent and fall in the same generic way.

So it’s like chess, only harder to see and makes you wait a bit longer for a perfunctory animation. Not terrible at the price, I suppose.
